Originally built in 1909, the County Hotel is the best and only example of the Victorian-Edwardian classical revival style that survived the 1931 earthquake. Re-developed in 1993, and again in 2002, the previous County Council Chambers have been transformed into this majestic boutique hotel with a wonderful ambience.
"The Chambers Restaurant" on the ground level serves multi-award winning international cuisine 7 days a week, and is recognized as one of the finest silver-service restaurants in Napier. "Churchill's Champagne and Snug Bar" also on the ground level, prides itself upon exceptional service with a superb selection of champagnes, wines and spirits.
"The Library" on the first level houses a private collection of more than a thousand books for our hotel guest's enjoyment with a complimentary decanter of port available at all times to complete the experience.
All of the rooms have Sky TV, very well appointed ensuites, air-conditioning and very well stocked mini-bars, are large and spacious and most certainly in keeping with the grandeur of the era.
