Built in 1903 with extensive use of native timbers, this large homestead incorporates some of the most beautiful architecture of its time. Leadlight windows adorn the walls and the Kauri and Rimu timbers give the house a warm feeling which has been described as sophisticated country style with a European influence. A wonderful turret room with a gold leafed dome is attached to the guest lounge and with windows all around makes a great reading room.
Guests have their own private lounge with complimentary teas, coffee, biscuits, soft drink and beer. There is also a wine list for those wishing to buy and drink wine on the premises. Also off the lounge is the verandah where guests can have breakfast overlooking the garden if they wish. We also offer a Petanque Court with boules and croquet set available in the adjoining summer house.
King Room:
romantic and restful with a large bay window. This room has an ensuite bathroom which was the original study, with period fittings and impressive rimu woodwork. A quality King size bed with cotton linen also graces this room along with complimentary port and fresh fruit.
Cottage:Or if you prefer a bit more privacy we also have a guest cottage available separate from the main house. It is self contained with a large bathroom, kitchen and 2 bedrooms.
