Waipoua Lodge is nestled on a ridge overlooking the 9600 hectare Waipoua Forest, at the gateway to three wonders of our natural world - Waipoua Kauri Forest Sanctuary, New Zealand's largest kauri forest and home of 'Tane Mahuta' one of the worlds largest and ancient trees, the crystal clear Kai Iwi Lakes and NZ's longest driveable golden sand beach.
Four luxurious, uniquely appointed suites overlooking the forest, are housed in the historic farm buildings to ensure absolute privacy. The landscaped gardens, filled with birdsong, lead to a native bush walk at the bottom of the garden.
Relax in the guest lounge by the open fire, in the sunroom library, or choose a wine from the bar to enjoy on the deck overlooking the three acres of gardens. Comfort-lovers can surrender to a massage, or soak in the jacuzzi overlooking the forest, after a day spent exploring nature in Waipoua. At night the Milky Way and night skies can be seen like nowhere else, as you fall asleep in the huge soft beds to the sound of our little native owls and rare kiwi birds.
